How to read today's football predictions

Football predictions today are laid out one fixture per row. Each row of the board is one fixture. The three-part bar is the match result probability: home on the left, draw in the middle, away on the right, with the picked outcome in green.

The pick chip names the selection with its chance, the price is the best line among the bookmakers we compare. And the five small bars grade confidence from low to very high. A row without a bar is a fixture no bookmaker has priced yet.

It is rated at the next refresh after the first line appears.

The tabs above the board swap the pick column between match result, over/under 2.5 goals, both teams to score and double chance without reloading. The probabilities behind every tab come from the same model. So a 61% over 2.5 and a 56% home win on one row describe the same expected scoreline.

Open any row for the full match page: every market, the six most likely scores, the half-time forecast and the odds table.

Kick-off times are converted to your time zone once the page loads. The day itself follows UTC, which is why a late North American game appears under the following date.

Matches in play show the minute and the live score, which refresh every few minutes. And finished matches keep the published pick beside the final score so today's board doubles as today's record.

Football predictions today sure wins: what the grade really says

Searches for sure wins are the most common way people arrive here, so the grade deserves a plain explanation.

A banker is a pick whose chance sits near the top of its market's range: 85% or more for a double chance or over 1.5 goals, 80% for a first-half goal, 68% for over or under 2.5 and both teams to score, 65% for a match winner.

Over a month, bankers land at roughly the rate the number says and no more. Nine of ten over 1.5 picks winning is a good month, not a guarantee, and a banker losing is the one in seven arriving on schedule.

The grade also says nothing about price. A 90% double chance at 1.08 implies 93% and loses money over time however often it lands. The same chance at 1.15 is a bet. That is why every row carries the best price and the match page carries the edge.

The banker page ranks today's highest-chance selections across every market with the running hit rate beside them. And the value bets page ranks the same fixtures by the gap between chance and price.

Where today's value and today's certainty sit

Value is the gap between our chance and the price, and it concentrates where bookmakers price late or thinly. Second divisions, cup rounds, the leagues outside Europe's big five and early lines on tomorrow's card.

On the board a pick whose match page shows a positive edge is worth more than a shorter-priced banker from a league where every line is efficient.

Certainty, in the sense of the best-calibrated probabilities, lives in the opposite place. The Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1, where lines open early and move on every piece of team news.

The two lists overlap less than expected: a 55% home win at 2.10 is value without being a banker, and an 85% over 1.5 at 1.12 is a banker without being value.

Prediction of the day, the accumulators and the record

The prediction of the day is the selection with the best balance of chance, value and competition weight among today's unplayed fixtures, chosen once in the morning and left unchanged so that the record cannot be dressed up afterwards.

The 2, 5 and 10 odds accumulators in the side column are built the same way from the strongest priced picks.

Each ticket shows its combined price and the real chance of all legs landing, which for the 10 odds ticket is close to one in ten.

Everything on the board is graded. Each pick is frozen with its chance and price once the match is within 40 hours of kick-off, graded from the final score. And listed on the results page for the day with the hit rate by market and the flat-stake return.

The 7-day record sits in the side column.

The 30-day record and the daily chart are on the results pages.

Today's football predictions by market

The tabs on the board show today's football predictions by market: match result, over/under 2.5 goals, both teams to score and double chance, each with the chance and the best price.

Prediction for today's matches in the correct score market sits on each match page, where the six most likely scorelines are listed with their chances.

Searches for football predictions today and tomorrow are answered by the day strip above the board, which steps forward a day at a time and keeps the same layout; yesterday's strip entry opens the graded results for that date.

A mathematical football prediction for today is what every row is: two expected goal figures fitted to each fixture and a Poisson score grid read from them, with no hand-written tip anywhere on the page.

Questions people ask

What time are today's football predictions updated?

Fixtures and probabilities refresh every two hours through the day and matches in play refresh every few minutes with live scores. Picks in the results record are frozen once a match is within 40 hours of kick-off.

How many matches have predictions today?

133 of 133 fixtures across 68 competitions carry a full forecast right now. The rest are shown as fixtures and are rated as soon as a bookmaker prices them.

Which prediction is the safest today?

Safest means the highest chance, and the board grades it: banker picks sit at 85% or above for double chance and over 1.5 goals. Even those lose about one time in seven, which is why the price matters as much as the grade.

Can I see yesterday's predictions and results?

Yes. Yesterday's page keeps every row with the final score, and the results pages list each frozen tip with its grade. So the record can be checked day by day.

Why are kick-off times different from my bookmaker's?

Times are converted to your browser's time zone after the page loads. Before that they show in UTC. The day grouping stays in UTC, so a late evening match in the Americas can sit under the next date.
